‘Stree 2’ composer Sachin Sanghvi held for allegedly sexually assaulting woman under pretext of marriage

Bollywood music composer and singer Sachin Sanghvi, known for his work in films like Stree 2 and Bhediya, has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman after luring her with promises of a role in a music album and marriage. Police confirmed the arrest on Thursday under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

According to the police, the woman, in her 20s, claimed that she came in contact with Sanghvi in February 2024 through Instagram. The accused reportedly promised her a chance in one of his upcoming music albums and later proposed marriage. Following this, she alleged that Sanghvi sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions at his studio.

After the woman filed a complaint, an investigation was launched, leading to Sanghvi’s arrest. Authorities are now verifying digital communications and other evidence shared between the two. Police sources said further legal proceedings are underway as part of the ongoing probe.

Sanghvi, one half of the popular music duo Sachin–Jigar, has composed songs for several successful Bollywood films. His arrest has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, which has recently seen multiple cases of alleged sexual misconduct involving high-profile figures.
